Position: Lead Pastor

Ray became the Senior Pastor of Portland Christian Center on April 13, 2008. He and his wife Linda have been married for twenty-eight years, and have two beautiful, grown daughters, Ashley, 25 and Danielle, 22.

Ray has been in ministry for 28 years, having served churches in Eugene, Oregon, Denver, Colorado, and Dublin, California. Prior to his senior pastorate in California, he served as Senior Pastoral Associate here at PCC. Ray’s undergraduate degree is in Religion and Philosophy, with a double minor in New Testament Greek and History, and he has done graduate studies at The King’s Seminary. He has a consuming passion for Biblical exposition and the spiritual formation of God’s people. Believing that the local church is the hope of the world, Ray’s vision is to see his local fellowship become a catalyst for global change.

Ray also has worked in conjunction with Charles E. Blair Foundation, a church planting organization, to start over 1,300 start-up churches in Ethiopia. He loves all kinds of athletics, but is especially dedicated to running and physical training. He enjoys backpacking, whitewater rafting, reading, writing, and will rarely turn down an invitation to a good cup of coffee.
