Pastor Ron & Cheryll Cochran's Retirement

    Posted May 4th, 2018

To the Church Board and Congregation of Portland Christian Center,

In a recent blog post, Pastor Ray reminded us of this important truth, “Whether you are a parent, a president, or a pastor, you will be required to pass the baton of your leadership to a new generation. It happens sooner or later—usually sooner than we expect: we come to the end of our leg of the race and have to pass the baton.”

After completing 45 years of ministry (30 years at Portland Christian Center and 15 years at Willamette Christian Center in Eugene), I have decided that it is my turn to “pass the baton.” I want to finish well, so I plan to complete this current season of ministry and retire sometime this summer.

Cheryll and I plan to remain an active part of Portland Christian Center and support Pastor Ray and Linda in every way possible. We love this church, this staff, this board and all the incredible people who have touched our lives in so many ways. A special thank you to all those who have faithfully served with us in the Music Ministry of Portland Christian Center. You have blessed our lives immeasurably! Thanks to each of you in this congregation, for your love and support over these past 30 years.

    With Gratitude,

    Pastor Ron & Cheryll Cochran
