Steps to Become a Marriage Mentor
So you are exploring the idea of marriage mentoring. You've come to the right place! Here you can discover our process for training, developing, inspiring and linking seasoned couples with less experienced couples for an amazing experience that pays huge dividends for both couples.
How to Get Started:
- Complete a Marriage Mentor Application and email to Pastor Linda Noah or mail to the church office. The online application is a simple fill-in-the-blank pdf file. You may also download the application and complete with a pencil or pen.
- Complete the "Enrich" Marriage Assessment developed by Life Innovations, Inc. to get a good idea of you and your spouses marital strengths. Online codes for the "Enrich" assessment will be sent to you after your Marriage Mentor Application has been reviewed.
- Attend a Marriage Mentoring Training Event with other excited couples desiring to become Marriage Mentors. Trainings are scheduled periodically throughout the year.
- Another option to group training is to complete a self-study with your spouse. You can check out a Marriage Mentoring Self-Study Kit from our Life Learning Library.
- Once you have completed the group training or self-study you will be given the opportunity to complete the Marriage Mentoring Certification Quiz by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott. This Assessment covers the information learned in your training.
- And finally, receive final approval and blessing from the Pastoral Staff of Portland Christian Center
The cost for Marriage Mentor Training and Certification is only $50.00 per couple and includes:
- 8 - 10 hours of Training with Pastor Ray and Linda, and Lead Mentor Teams
- Personal Diagnostic, "Enrich" Marriage Assessment developed by Life Innovations, Inc., a multi-page assessment that lets you see the strength and growth areas of your marriage
- Marriage Mentor Training Manual for Wives: A Ten-Session Program for Equipping Marriage Mentors
- Marriage Mentor Training Manual for Husbands: A Ten-Session Program for Equipping Marriage Mentors
